New Service to Amsterdam
Dulles, VA -- Spring is here and today Capitol Logistics announces the beginning of service from Amsterdam. The Dutch horticulture sector is a global trendsetter and the undisputed international market leader in flowers, plants, bulbs and propagation material. Holland has a 44% share of the worldwide trade in floricultural products, making it the dominant global supplier of flowers and flower products. Some 77% of all flower bulbs traded worldwide come from the Netherlands, the majority of which are tulips. 40% of the trade in 2015 was cut flowers and flower buds. Capitol Logistics will commence direct flights from Amsterdam to Chicago, Seattle, and Miami using 747's, and to Washington-Dulles on the 767. These flights enable rapid air transport of perishable freight to major US markets, and also to connect to the rest of the Capitol Logistics network for worldwide distribution. With its cold storage and general cargo sorting facilities, Capitol Logistics main hub in Miami will become a leader in the transportation of perishable cargo not only from Europe, but also South America.
